The management of the BVB MUDHENS Baseball Team would like to make you aware of a sponsorship opportunity with visibility within the Burlington-Halton area for the 2010 season and beyond.
We are non-profit adult (30+) Vintage Baseball Team called the “BVB MudHens.” We are part of the Burlington Vintage Baseball League that has belonged to the City of Burlington sports community for the last 10 years under the BVB name. The league is comprised of approximately 190 players from the Southern Ontario region, ranging from 30 to 55 years of age. Our members constitute a large span of demographics (professionals, business owners, consumers) that support our league and its sponsors. Our league teams also participate in regional and national tournaments and exhibition games against other hardball teams or leagues. Over the years, BVB has sent teams to the Canadian National Vintage Championships hosted in Tillsonburg, ON (2005), Yarmouth, NS (2006), Red Deer, AB (2007), Hamilton, ON (2008) and Yarmouth NS again in 2009. The 2007 and 2008 seasons were very successful for BVB where our Nationals 35+ team took the Canadian National Vintage Championship title “back to back” with a number of the MudHens participating in this select squads. This is the highest level of baseball in Canada for 35+ years of age. The active participation in the planning, coordination and assistance for these tournaments are strong indications of our depth as active members of the sports community. The tournaments are hosted in different locations throughout Canada, drawing many teams from all over the country. In 2010, the Nationals tournament is being hosted in Vancouver and 2011 will bring the Canadian Nationals to Burlington with a large contingency of teams, players and family/fans to the Halton area for the tournament that summer. The League will have a high level of sponsorship coverage throughout these events. The BVB MudHens continue to have a strong contribution to this League venture with members of our roster being part of this select team. To say the least, we love the game of baseball.
The BVB MudHens Baseball Club also had very successful years since our beginnings in 2007. With the 2007 season being our inaugural year as a new expansion team, the squad fought to contend in the league at a competitive level. The MudHens did just that by taking the Legends Cup championship title in BVB. In the 2008 season, the MudHens produced the best regular season record, clinching the Lutz Cup; a pennant that all teams strive for. This past season (2009), took us to the semi-finals in the top tier of the league; which was our highest level of competition faced.
Because of our appreciation for organized sports and the game of baseball, the BVB MudHens have also engaged in giving back to the community by supporting a Bantam level team in BOMBA (Burlington Organized Minor Baseball Association) that we call the “Jr. MudHens.” One of our squad members coaches this Bantam team and the rest of our club will support the venture where possible. Our hope is to promote the benefits of sportsmanship and competitive play. It could also lead to a prospective player in our squad; in about 18 years...
That being said, the BVB MudHens baseball club is inquiring to build a relationship with local businesses like yourself, that are looking to sponsor local sporting organizations. Your relationship with the BVB MudHens will provide your business with many advertising and visibility opportunities. Our present cluster of team sponsors who have supported us since 2007 were very pleased with our relationship and we would like to extend this to other businesses that can gain mutual benefit from such arrangements. Our site is constantly kept up to date with information concerning our team’s news and season game play. If there is something in particular you are looking to have on our site, please bring it to our attention to try and accommodate. We can work with you to build any individual web based opportunities if desired.

Our League websites average over 1.2 million hits with over 100k visits a year so there is no shortage of web presence.
Product/Service Awareness: There is opportunity to further promote the sponsorship relationship within the league by offering discounts or special offers to team and league members to attract and secure immediate business as well as repeat/future return on investment. This has proved to be an effective tool for some of our sponsors.
Any contribution would be appreciated. We do not have set amounts that are required but we can negotiate your visibility with respect to the provided funding. A valid tax credit receipt will be provided by our League treasurer in any requested form (i.e. hardcopy, email, etc).
We are especially looking forward to the 2010 season for it brings forth continued changes and growth in our baseball club. Your contribution will assist with our participation in the Halton area sports community. We are not a MLB team but we strive to look as good.
